VertebrALCUE Green Paper
The VertebrALCUE consortium is presenting the Green Paper “Integration: a key concept for a modernization agenda of higher education in the EULAC space”.
This document is the result of the collaboration of the 32 partner institutions of VertebrALCUE project and of the many consultations with different stakeholders, including peer academic institutions from outside the project partnership, associations and networks of universities, international organisations dealing with higher education policies and practices, professionals of the sector, students, researchers and policy and decision makers at the national and regional levels.
The process that led to this document took its first steps, as the VertebrALCUE project proposal did as well, from another policy document (delivered within the framework of a EU co-funded project), that is the VALUE White Paper. Some of its main points were analysed in light of the advancements of the ALCUE policy aim as well as of the new global scenario.
It was decided to keep denominating it as a “green” paper because the discussion and the efforts to build a common EU-LAC space of cooperation in the higher education sector, are still on-going and contributions can still be incorporated before achieving, in a wide collective effort, a “white” version of it. This is especially true in the perspective of the Inter-governmental Summit to be held in Santiago de Chile in January 2013, which is mobilising many energies and multiple discussion fora are taking place in these days across the Atlantic.
The Green Paper is available in the three project working languages (English, Spanish and Portuguese), and downloadable here.

Associated Partners
Although the Project has officially concluded its activities last 9th June 2012, universities still interested to join the VertebrALCUE network are welcome to do so in the future by setting up their own ALCUE Unit: as to why and how to set up an AU, and become part of the AU community, they can refer to the Starter's Pack for the ALCUE Unit, which is available here as an online version and as a downloadble file.
